David Smithhart Obituary

David attended Central High School. He was a truck driver for over 30 years and was employed by Holland Motor Express for a majority of his career, and drove for J.R. McBride most recently. David was a member of the Teamsters Local 215.
David is survived by his wife, Terri (Wilhelm) Miller Smithhart; sons,
Scott (Megan) Smithhart of Linton, IN and Eric (Jessica) Smithhart of Chandler, IN; daughter, Magan Smithhart of Newburgh, IN; stepson, Adam Hagedorn of Ferdinand, IN; stepdaughter, Andrea Wilhelm of Evansville; aunts, Kathy Mettle and Susie Clark; uncles, George "Buddy" Appel and Bobby Mettle; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his grandson, Kamren Smithhart.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Avenue, Evansville. A Funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Morphew officiating.

Both me and my father Gene Gilley worked with Dave at USF Holland. We both really liked Dave. He was a very kind man who always would help anyone if he could. He will be missed.
