David Snyder, age 81, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at his home. He was born December 2, 1942 to the late Dayton and Minnie Belle Snyder. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Myers and brother, James Snyder.
David was a proud United States Army veteran. He was a wonderful father who never guilted but always offered encouragement and positivity. He took great pride in his daughters as well as all the others to whom he was a father figure. David had an excellent work ethic and was known as a jack of all trades. He was a big sports fan, particularly of the Tennessee Volunteers. David enjoyed shooting pool and loved to go golfing with the guys.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Ladonna Snyder; daughter, Dava Snyder (Kevin Hamilton); step-daughter, Lisa Halcomb (Mark); step-son, John Stout (Christy); brothers, Roy Snyder and Richard Snyder; sister-in-law, Nancy Greene (Charlie); special sister-in-law, Jackie “Jack Rock” Dugger and husband Doug as well their sons, special nephews, Bill Arnold and Josh Rock (Courtney); grandchildren, Lottie Rae Stout, Zoe Stout, Kaycee Halcomb, Addie Arnold, and Cambria Rock; several nieces and nephews; and his golf and breakfast club friends.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. with Minister Dwayne Dickson and Jackie Dugger officiating. The graveside and burial will follow at Phillippi Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Bill Arnold, John Stout, Kevin Hamilton, Brent Snyder, Doug Dugger, and Adam Arney. Honorary pallbearer is Josh Rock.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s’s (https://www.stjude.org/donate), or your church or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Laura and Gail as well as the rest of the Amedysis Hospice staff, and Mountain Home, especially the oncology team.
