David Speaker Obituary
David T. Speaker
Age 74, of Waynesburg, passed away Wed., July 17, 2024. He was born Dec. 12, 1949 in Dover, OH, a son of the late Donald and Phyllis (Hyke) Speaker, and was a life resident of Sandyville and Waynesburg. Dave was a 1967 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. He was a crane operator for Local 18 of the Operating Engineers and was a member of the Lisbon Coon Hunters Club. He loved to hunt and fish, in Lake Erie and also Lake Mohawk. Dave loved dogs, but especially his coon hounds. He enjoyed playing cards, and he was ornery and a jokester, and liked to pull pranks on friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Perry Speaker. Dave is survived by his wife, Shelley Speaker, with whom he celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary on May 3rd; one daughter and three sons, Dana Corley, Tom Hepner, Benjamin Speaker, and David A. Speaker; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Jade Hepner, and her sons, Hunter and Kailer, Sage Hepner, and Kyle Speaker; two sisters and one brother, Peggy Brooks, Alice (Mark) Matson, and Tim Speaker.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Deacon Dave Kenney officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. before the service. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhome.com
