David Stephenson, 72, of Ellport, passed away at Butler Memorial Hospital on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Born in Ellwood City on October 29, 1952, David was son of the late Leonard and Clara Pica Stephenson. He married the former Harriet Zeigler on August 21, 1970. Dave retired from Joy Mining Machinery in Franklin, PA where he worked as a welder. A member of both the Ellwood Wampum Rod and Gun Club and the Zelienople Sportsman’s Club, David enjoyed hunting, fishing and turkey shoots. When his daughters were growing up, he coached softball for many years- and never missed a single one of his daughters’ games. He enjoyed teaching his grandsons anything and everything, including how to attempt to hit a golf ball.
David is survived by his wife, Harriet Stephenson of Ellport, his two daughters, Deanna Stephenson of New Castle and Kelly Stephenson of Neshannock Township, his grandsons, Jason A. Montgomery, Jr. and Emon C. Holmes Stephenson and his brother and sister-in-law, Danny (Toni) Stephenson of Wampum.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark Stephenson and Michael Stephenson.
Friends will be received on Monday, September 8th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 9th at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home on behalf of the family.
