Earl M. Allison, 98 years young, of Riverview, Ellwood City, PA, peacefully went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family and loved ones, on the morning of Monday, October 20, 2025.
Earl was preceded in death by both of his parents and siblings, Harvey and Caroline Allison, of Castlewood, PA, his Brother Paul Allison and sister Evelyn Partington (Toby), and his beloved daughter, Cheryl Ann Hall (Jerry) of Raleigh, North Carolina.
He is survived by his loving and devoted son, Earl “David” Allison (Kathleen) of Ellwood City, PA, his adoring grandchildren Eric C. Hall (Caroline), Alecia Ann Allison, Nathan C. Hall (Cassie), Major Jonathan D. Allison (Shanna), Jessica R. Janectic (Mike) and very special great grandchildren, who always made time for their Great Gramps, Aiden Hall, Alexandra Marie Allison, Garrett Hall, Allison Rae ("Allie") Barzen, Ashton David Allison, Tyler Hall, Connor Nicholas Allison, and Christian James Allison and many other family members. David, Kathleen and Jessica made sure that he was taken care of after his Annie passed, visiting him daily and feeding him well.
Earl retired from Merck. He loved fishing, boating, hunting and playing cards and board games, spending time with his family and laughing. He loved to sing and tell jokes and had a serious sweet tooth. Earl was raised on a farm and loved to tell farm stories. He was known for his sayings and had a laugh that could fill a room. “Gramps” was a man of few words but his words had profound impact and was often solicited for his advice. He loved his family very much and his family loved him. He whittled and was quite talented and often read the old westerns and did Sudoku puzzles.
Earl was part of a generation that was made for surviving difficult times. He lived through wars, the Great Depression, and the loss of his wife and daughter before him. He was always thankful for what he had and didn’t concern himself with what he didn’t. Most of all, he lived a life filled with love and laughter and family and left behind a legacy of fond memories that spanned a lifetime. He always made you feel seen and heard and you were privileged to know him.
Earl shared over 60 years with the love of his life, Ann. Never was a husband more patient and devoted to his wife. He set a loving and beautiful example of what it means to be married to your soulmate, and had the patience of Job, which Nana often told him. Earl doted on Ann. They are now reunited in heaven and he is finally complete and will be deeply missed.
