David Anthony Stieber, age 68, of Shelby, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

David was born on April 26, 1957, to the late Vincent Arther Sr. and Margarett (Warner) Stieber in Greenwich, Ohio. David enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served for four years. He worked as a truck driver for nearly 50 years and most recently driving for Dutch Maid in Willard, retiring in 2024.

David had a true green thumb and found great joy in spending time in his greenhouse and garden. Whether tending to the plants inside his home or working in the soil outdoors, he took pride in nurturing and watching things grow. For the majority of his life, David worked as a truck driver, a career that reflected his love for the open road. In retirement, he and his beloved wife looked forward to traveling together, especially after purchasing their new camper and making plans for many adventures ahead. Above all else, David adored his grandchildren, they were his world. He made sure there was candy in every room of the house, always ready with a sweet treat and an even sweeter smile for them. His love for them was constant, generous, and unwavering.

Left to cherish his memory are is his loving wife, Dawn E. (Burkholder) Stieber, whom he wed on December 1, 1990; his children, Curtis (Kayra) Stieber of Sandusky, Ohio, Calena (Josh) Fannin of New London, Ohio, and step-son, Scott Barler of Shelby; 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, seven siblings, Paul (Shirley) Stieber of Texas, Martha Smith of Massachusetts, Frank (Cheryl) Stieber of Norwalk, Mary (Chuck) Krisher of Norwalk, Ohio, Ann (Roy) Hinckley of Wakeman, Ohio, Vincent Arther Stieber, Jr. of Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, David was proceeded in death by his beloved son, Shane Stieber.

At this time no services will be observed. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or the American Cancer Society at American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
