David L. Swain, age 76, passed away on August 19, 2025.
He was born on April 17, 1949, in Alliance, to Robert and Lorraine (Richards) Swain.
He graduated from Alliance High School in 1967. David worked as a department head for Robertson’s Heating for 26 years until his retirement. He served as a combat M.P. with the United States Army during Vietnam.
David was a member of the Alliance American Legion Post, the Elks and Turning Point Baptist Church.
David coached Hot Stove Baseball for 30 years. He played both baseball and basketball recreationally. David was an avid fisherman and a huge Mount Union fan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan (Hawley) Swain; his children, Michael (Cassie) Swain, Tricia (Tom) Schmoyer, Ryan (Jenny) Roberts, and Kelly (Dale) Pittman; sister, Cynthia (Eugene) Butcher; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Chad Butcher; and great-grandson, Braydon Pittman.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26th at 7:00 p.m. with a visitation three hours prior from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
