David Robert Taylor Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on Monday October 28, 2024, at Epsom Health Care Center. He was born on August 8, 1942, in Newton, MA to Job Wyman and Margaret Kathalene (Walton) Taylor.
Throughout his life David worked as a service station attendant for various stations before retiring from BJ's working as a stocker and greeter. He thoroughly loved his jobs, they gave him the opportunity to meet new people and hold conversations, which he treasured.
In his free time, David was an avid fan of Johnny Cash, he loved his music, and they would even write letters to each other. David met Johnny in 1963 and knew everything there was to know about Johnny. David was a big Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, always catching a game when he could. He had a passion for cars. David competed in drag racing at the NE Dragway in the 1970's and was also a fan of John Force. Above all, David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially family pot roast dinners which were his all time favorite. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
David is survived by his three children Kenneth Taylor and his wife Bianca Combs of Pelham, Lisa Torres of Manchester, and Darlene Taylor of Weare, NH; his nine grandchildren Candace Torres, Martika Torres, Elizabeth Barry, George Barry, Marisa Taylor, Brenda Barry, Brittany Bowers, Dylan Barry, and Matthew Taylor; his 7 great grandchildren Angelina, Mayana, Brandon "Little B", Rosalee, Adaline, Briella, and Vinny; his sister Joan Trenholm; his nephew Donald Reid Trenholm and his wife Bernadette and their family; his nieces Cheryl Lynn and her family and Linda Joy Gott and her husband Bob and their family.
He was predeceased by his son David Robert "Robbie" Taylor Jr.
Interment will be held on FRIDAY, November 15th at 11 AM at the chapel in Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton, MA 02459. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The family has requested that flowers be sent directly to Newton Cemetery.
