Obituary of David John Taylor, Jr.

(November 21, 1962 – January 1, 2026)

David John Taylor, Jr., 63, of Fredericksburg, VA, formerly of King George, VA, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. David was born on November 21, 1962, in Washington, DC to the late David John Taylor, Sr. and Joan Taylor. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Lowman (Thomas), grandson Caden Baker, sisters Pamela Tollefsen (Stephen) and Kathy Brayton (Anthony), his niece Kelly Spear (Jeffrey) and great-niece, Lily Violet Spear, nephew Jon Tollefsen (Dena), niece Kirsten Marie Tollefsen (Seth), and cousins Herbert Martin (Edith) and Christine Garner.

He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic School in Clinton, MD and Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, MD where he made friendships that he maintained throughout his life. He loved good-natured jokes – especially practical jokes – and many of his friends remember him for his sense of humor. He also loved to travel and enjoyed many cruises to various Caribbean islands. Because of his love for the beach, he also spent many summers in Ocean City, MD. He was a music lover with a preference for rock and heavy metal and attended many concerts with his friends. He also loved all things related to Halloween and enjoyed volunteering his time at local haunted houses and attending horror conventions. He enjoyed sports – especially football and was a loyal Washington Commanders fan. He also liked old movies and reading biographies and historical books about Native American history and culture. His all-time favorite foods were Ledo's pizza and crabs.

David will be deeply missed and remembered by his family and friends. A funeral mass will be held in the Spring of 2026.

Cruised with David a number of times - liked him right away - my wife , Jane, thought David and I spent too much time looking for the beach and another cold beer- she was probably right- but those sure were fun times. He slipped away from us way too soon and I will (Jane too) miss him!
