David Hezekiah Taylor, 85, of Valdosta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Born on September 29, 1940, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was the son of the late Roland Herman Taylor and Catherine King Taylor Roberts.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army, demonstrating the same dedication and strength that would characterize his life’s work and devotion to family. Following his military service, he built a long and honorable career as a commercial truck driver. Known as a true long-haul driver, David spent countless miles on the open road, providing for his family with unwavering commitment. His final years of service were with Roadway, where he was respected for his work ethic and reliability.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Bernie David Taylor; his parents; and numerous siblings.
Survivors include his daughter, Libby Ann Peters (Bruce) of Valdosta, Georgia; son, Larry Taylor of Valdosta, Georgia; daughter, Michelle Griner (Kenneth) of Valdosta, Georgia; grandchildren: Jennifer Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Jordan Healy, Shelby Cave (Zach), Lauren Kirbo (Adam), Mallory Fuller (John), Catherine Hutchison (Landon), Jesse Griner, DJ Conger, Kelsey Griner and Kell McCann ;numerous great grandchildren; sister, Hazel Daughtery of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com. The Taylor family is being served by the professional and caring staff of Music Funeral Services of Valdosta.
