Gone far too soon, David Thomas III was a husband, father, brother, son-in-law, uncle, dog dad, gamer, sneakerhead, and proud Philadelphia Eagles superfan whose presence and humor were nothing short of unforgettable.
David was the devoted and joyful husband every partner hopes to find-full of life, love, and laughter. As a father, he was one of the best to ever walk this earth. Affectionately known as Popa Bear, David wore an invisible cape marked "Super Dad"-and he wore it well. His endearment was fierce, tender, and unwavering. He loved with such intensity and sincerity that just being around him made you feel seen, valued, and grateful.
Sundays were sacred and so were sneakers. His loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles ran deep – he truly bled green-and naturally, his family followed his lead, by rallying behind the team with him. His sister, a die-hard Cowboys fan, was often banished to another room whenever the Eagles faced off against her team-David wouldn't risk rival energy near the screen. A self-declared sneakerhead, David's dream shoe closet-lovingly curated by his wife-became his sanctuary. It reflected his passion, style, and personality.
David Thomas' career at Home Depot spanned 20 years, where he rose to the position of Operations Manager. His dedication, work ethic, and camaraderie left a lasting impression on his colleagues, who became like extended family.
An avid gamer, Missing Link 32, could be found diving into virtual worlds with his children, cousins, and close friends. David's gaming setup was only rivaled by his incredible music catalog. From timeless classics to modern hits, his playlists were as eclectic and rich as his spirit. However, it was "Old Blue Eyes"-Frank Sinatra-and the Rat Pack who held a special place in his heart. You couldn't help but become a fan just by riding shotgun in his car or being near a speaker with tunes he curated.
David didn't just adore his family-he celebrated them. Whether gathered at home or away on new adventures, he cherished every moment. His cousins were more like brothers, and his friends evolved into a village. His love knew no boundaries.
Mr. Thomas had a deep appreciation for life's finer things. A connoisseur of fine dining and a perfect pour, David was the family's beloved mixologist-known for crafting cocktails that were as unforgettable as his company. Every occasion with David felt like an experience, elevated by his charm and his signature drink (An Old-Fashioned) in hand.
If you ever witnessed him serenade his wife with Prince's "Adore" at their wedding or flawlessly perform the legendary lift from "Dirty Dancing" in sync with his brother-in-law, you saw the soul of a man who lived fully and fearlessly.
David was predeceased by several beloved family members including his proud mother, Deborah Ann Thomas-(lovingly known as Ms. Grandma).
To say David never met a stranger is an understatement. He left a mark on everyone he encountered-through kindness, laughter, and his larger-than-life presence.
David, your absence leaves an unfillable space, but your love, joy, and legacy will echo through the lives of everyone you touched. We know you're flying higher than any Eagle now.
Forever Loved. Forever Missed. Forever Eagles.
Relatives and Friends are invited to David's viewing on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 1PM to 3PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Interment private at the request of the family.

I'll never forget Dave and the impression he left on me. We clicked as soon as we met and he always treated me and everyone else with nothing but kindness. I can remember being at Kayla's birthday party where he was playing basketball with his family and friends and me, his soon-to-be cousin-in-law at about 12 years old wanted to play and he didn't hesitate to to vouch for me and have me join right in. He also didn't hesitate to join my friend and I going to Philly for an extreme wrestling event and left a lasting impression on my friend too. He was always fun to be around and the life of the party. All of the kids loved him and he never failed to make them laugh and have fun. He loved his family and his extended family and I know he'll be dearly missed my all of us. He helped show me that with hard work and commitment, you can make things work if you want them to. He is gone far too soon and Christmas Eve will not be the same without him. Kane, Desiree, and I will all miss him dearly and were happy to know him for the time we did. He left a lasting impression on us all and I know Rhys would feel the same way if he was old enough.
RIP Dave, we all love you.
