Matthew L Thomas, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away on August 22, 2024 in Henderson, NV.

Matthew was born on October 15, 1952, in Monroe, LA and was the son of Rebecca Bailey.

Survivors include wife Gwendolyn Sue Thomas, sons: Corey B Adams and Christopher T Thomas (Rosslyn), Grandchildren: Kennedy and Carter Thomas. Siblings: Shirley Franklin, Dora White (Arthur), Classie Vandross (Roy), James Bailey and Rebecca Bailey. Matthew had 15 nieces and nephews.

Matthew was drafted into the US Army in 1972. After completing his military service, Matthew earned a Bachelor of Science degree at California State University, Sacramento, CA. Matthew loved to travel, starting in 1972, he lived and worked at Fort Polk, LA; Fort Ord, CA; San Antonio,TX; Stuttgart, Germany, Fort Campbell, KY, Presidio of San Francisco, CA; Sacramento, CA; Ludwigsburg, Germany; Nuremberg, Germany, Vicenza, Italy, Zweibrucken, Germany, Falls Church, VA, Alexandria, VA, Bad Kreuznach, Germany, Ansbach, Germany and Heidelberg, Germany. Matthew retired in March 2013 as an Army Civilian in Heidelberg, Germany. After Matthew retired, he and his wife lived in Vancouver, WA, Silver Lake, WA and finally in Las Vegas, NV.
