Obituary of David Luke Trent, Jr.
David Luke Trent Jr. "Davey", formerly of Kingsport, TN, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 10:10 AM on Friday, February 9, 2024. Davey passed at home instantly due to a MI. Davey's heart was so kind and loving, it's of some solace to think it would be the very vessel that led him into the arms of Jesus. Davey was born in Big Stone Gap, VA on October 13, 1984, before moving to Kingsport, where he grew up. Davey was in the medical field by trade, a longtime member of Vernon Heights Baptist Church, and a devout lover of Jesus.
Davey loved nothing more than his family and was survived by many loved ones including his most adored and greatest treasure - daughter, Isabella Trent, and beloved daughter of his heart, Rhylee Hinkle; his adoring parents, David Trent Sr. and Kimberly Trent; his younger sister, Stephanie Trent; as well as many beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, and other family and dear friends.
There was a joyous reception in heaven for Davey as he was welcomed by his late beloved Aunt Sissy, Uncle Ricky, grandparents, and many other family members and loved ones.
A receiving of friends will be held at Scott County Funeral Home (Carter-Trent) in Weber City, VA on Thursday, February 15, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with a Celebration of Life to follow. Davey will be laid to rest at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, VA at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 16 (no procession – those wishing to attend will meet at the graveside around 10:45 AM). Pastor Matthew Wine to officiate both services.
