Obituary of David Wayne Troutman
David Wayne Troutman, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away peacefully July 18, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri.
David was born January 25, 1950 in Kansas City, KS. David grew up in the Kansas City area and spent summers surrounded by his family including beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins at The Lake of the Ozarks, including his cousin and life long best friend Ted Kokoruda Jr.
David graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, KS in 1968. Following graduation he began his very accomplished career at the Union Pacific Railroad during which he advanced from 20 years of engineer train service to management and ultimately reaching director level during his 42 year tenure until his retirement. David also earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Baker University in Business Administration and Management.
David was a very proud Veteran of the United States Navy in which he served his country during leave
from Railroad 1968 – 1972.
David married the love of his life, Beverly Lane Troutman, in 1972 which he met through mutual friends. Together they raised their daughters, Angie and Bridgett in the Olathe, Kansas community accumulating countless friends and neighbors through the years, and always spending summers at The Lake of the Ozarks.
David was a member of local BASS competition fishing clubs and enjoyed fishing at regional lakes. He loved watching movies, his favorites were Star Wars and James Bond. David was a lifelong Chiefs fan and passed his passion on to his children and grandchildren. They enjoyed attending games at Arrowhead and watching Chiefs games together as a family. If they weren't together there was always a
game day group text going analyzing each play.
Above all, David's pride and joy were his and Bev's four grandchildren. Hailey, Chloe, Easton, and Barrett. Paw Paw enjoyed taking the kids on special lunch dates, attending dance competitions, watching baseball tournaments, traveling to watch the kids in sporting events and dance, watching Chloe cheer at KSU games, and making each of them their own special pie at Thanksgiving.
David had a passion for sharing his love of the lake with his family. He was a skilled boat driver, water skier, and avid fisherman. He adored teaching his children and grandchildren how to enjoy the lake and spent countless hours pulling them on tubes, giving boat driving lessons, and showing how to properly bait a hook. He instilled his love for the lake in each of his kids and grandkids.
The family is very grateful for the end-of-life care provided at Lake Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to the hospice department in honor of David's name at the following link https://www.lakeregional.com/forms/donate-now/
