David Leon Twine,
age 74, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 6, 2022 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington.
He was born April 8, 1948 in Port William, OH, son of the late Percy & Elnora (Sprowle) Twine. On January 9, 1969 in Reesville, Ohio, he married Betty Ann (Peters) Twine, who passed on June 18, 2007. They were married for 38 years.
A US Army Vietnam War Veteran, he was a truck and automotive mechanic and had worked at Hood Packaging. He was a member of the Wilmington V.F.W. Post 6710, the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 and a former member of the Wilmington Eagles Lodge #1224.
Surviving are his daughters- Diana Nealis, Lexington, Kentucky, & Michelle (Joe) Hoover of Wilmington; grandchildren- David Nealis, & Kimberley Weisenberger; and brother- George E. (Peggy) Twine of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his brother- Dale Twine and sister- Janet Bean.
A gathering of David's family and friends will be on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Adams Township Hall, 389 South Beechgrove Road. Interment will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 9, 2023 in the New Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William, Ohio, where the Wilmington American Legion Honor Squad will accord full military honors. Pastor Virgil Hawkins of the Port William Church will officiate.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
