David H. VanBilliard, 88, of Topton, PA and Melbourne, FL, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann (Cressman) VanBilliard, who died on October 9, 2022, and prior to her passing, celebrated 64 years of marriage with.
Born in Allentown, David was a son of the late Ralph H. and Emilie (Shur) VanBilliard. David was a graduate of William Allen High School, Allentown and attended Moravian College, Bethlehem. While in high school, David was the captain of the color guard, which he was very proud of.
David was employed by the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he worked as a Chemical Engineer for 40 years until his retirement in 2000. David was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Topton, where he was a member of church council and was a reader for Sunday services. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and bowler having been a member of several bowling leagues in the Allentown area. David also enjoyed rooting for the Penn State Football team and taking walks around his beloved Topton community. David was also a racing enthusiast. His "Happy Days" would often include drag racing his 1953 corvette in front of the Allentown Fairgrounds with his wife and friends concluding with a stop at The Ritz BBQ.
David is survived by his two sons, David L VanBilliard, companion of Jill Conrad, of Alburtis and Daniel L., husband of Jennifer L.W. (Weller) VanBilliard, of Mertztown; sister, Emilie (VanBilliard) Ryan, Allentown; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Emily, McGuire, Cole, Brooke, Nicholas, Bradley and Eden; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Layla.
Along with his wife Pat, David was predeceased by his daughter, Vickie Lee VanBilliard on September 16, 2010; sister, Alice (VanBilliard) Weidner, and twin brothers in infancy.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor David's life will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 E. Weis Street, Topton, PA, with The Reverend Lisa K. Borrell officiating. Burial will follow in Topton Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday Morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
