David "Dave" Michael Varo
David "Dave" Michael Varo, age 57, of McKean Twp., passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Erie on September 21, 1966, the son of the late Samuel J. and Beatrice L. Summers Varo.
He was a graduate of McDowell High School and was employed in his family's trucking business and NTL.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and St. Francis Usher's Club.
David enjoyed golf, duck pin bowling, fishing, hunting, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Dallas Stars Hockey team.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Cynthia Varo Strictland.
He is survived by his beloved wife Stephanie M. Krol Varo, three children: Brittany and Nicholas of McKean and Mitchell Varo stationed with the Marines in Japan, and two brothers; Samuel J. Varo, Jr. and Daniel R. Varo.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday, October 26 from 3 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Private interment. All attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite sport team's jerseys/clothes to honor Dave.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Deepest sympathy. What a tragedy. Dave was great. High school football was classic. Dont know if many knew his nickname . Dave " chaos " varo. He was a priceless high school friend.
