David Alan Vaughan, age 59 a beloved figure of Havana, Florida sadly left our world on July 3, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and later put down roots in Tallahassee, Florida where he met his wife, Sylvia.
Dave lived his life full of strength, energy and determination, he was known for his quick wit and ability to make others laugh.
At the age of 45 David was given the opportunity to join the family of the FDOT in Midway Florida where he thrived. He maintained integrity throughout his career and had unique and personal relationships with each of his fellow comrades by whom he was given the nickname Dave O’.
In 1988 David discovered his brimming passion for hunting artifacts and various relicts. He acquired a vast collection that has been appreciated worldwide through his YouTube channel “Dave O’s Digs”. When Dave wasn’t hunting for artifacts, he could be found deer hunting and fishing.
He leaves behind his wife, Sylvia; son, Chance Vaughan (Kirk); daughter, Ayla Land; granddaughter, Evy Land; his parents, John and Margit Hollifield; brother, Richard Vaughan and sister, Kelly Hollifield (Greg).
His legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Faith Funeral Home, Havana Florida. A celebration of a life will follow at 12:00 pm. We invite all who knew David to a ceremony of remembrance where we will share joy, laughter and tears.
