David Lynn Ver Plank

David Lynn Ver Plank passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday, November 8th at the Ramona Rehabilitation care facility in Hemet, California.

David was born on September 5, 1936, in Los Angeles, California and lived in the San Jacinto valley most of his life. He and his wife moved to Idyllwild, California, in the early 2000's. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Avis Ruth Ver Plank in 2019.

David graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1954 and then enrolled in Riverside City College where he earned an associate's degree in accounting in 1956. He then went to work for a local accounting firm until volunteering for the US Army in 1958. He and Avis married while he served in the U.S. Army, on December 27, 1958.

After his time in the Army, he went to work at Sharp's building supply and eventually bought the business with his partners, Richard Hulstrom, and Bill Franke. He was an asset to the local community, as he served on the San Jacinto City Counsel and the Planning Commission. He was also active as a Boy Scout Cub Master and the San Jacinto High School Band Boosters.

David is survived by his two adult children Kimberly Dansie and Daniel Ver Plank, four grandchildren Jennifer Burgner, Jackie Sisk, Kristen Ver Plank, Kyler Ver Plank, and two great grandchildren Arabella and Cash.

Services for David will be held at: San Jacinto Valley Cemetery on November 21st, 2025, at ______pm. All who knew David or would like to attend the memorial service are invited.
