David Ricardo Vera, 61, passed away at his residence on July 12, 2025. He was born and raised in Mission and was a graduate of Mission High School. After graduation, he was employed by the US Postal Service up until his retirement, during his time at the post office, he was very active and enjoyed participating in events like the postal Olympics. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and spent hours enjoying long rides. There was nothing more important to him than his family, he was the "Favorite Uncle" of all his nieces and nephews and was always volunteering to babysit them. When David had free time, he could be found bar-b-que-ing with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Amado and Crisanta Vera; and son David Vera Jr.
He is survived by his siblings Amado (Marie) Vera III, Marisa (Rolando M.) Cano, Marina (Joe) Ochoa; he is also survived by his nieces and nephews Melissa, Allison, Roland, Eric, Stephen, Joey, Michelle, and Christopher; as well as by all his grand nieces and nephews Sterling, Eric Jet, Alyana, Stephen Texas, Penelope, Gabriel and Leah.
As we let him go today, may he be resting at peace in the hands of Our Almighty Lord.
