David Wayne Walker, age 58, of Chattanooga, TN went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was born in Chattanooga, TN to the late William Calvin Walker and Mary Charles Durham. David had been a resident of the Chattanooga area all of his life and was of the Baptist faith. For over thirty years David owned and operated David Walker Trucking. David loved "trucking and junking" and he enjoyed fishing every chance he could. He enjoyed watching TV, especially the westerns, grilling out and enjoyed the company of his constant companion JoJo. David most of all loved his family and friends. David is preceded in death by his father, William Calvin Walker; his uncle, Jean Durham and sister: Carolyn Walker. David is survived by his loving wife, Connie Belinda Walker; mother, Mary Durham; brothers, Ronald Walker and Sonny Walker; children, Shannon Whitt, Kathleen Whitt, Christopher (Whitney) Johnson, and Timothy Blane Bess; grandchildren Reagan Kate Johnson, Mollie McGill, Gage Whitt and several other grandchildren and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 15, from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm. And from 9:00 am until the time of the service on Tuesday, January 16. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens – South. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
