I was Brian's supervisor for the brief time he taught mathematics at Park West High School in Manhattan. He was a brilliant educator, communicator, and loved by the students. In a summer program I supervised he once taught a group of Vietnamese "Boat Children" who could not speak a word of English. He kept the students mesmerized by the depth of his personality which exuded a deep sense of humanity and caring. Brian was truly a gift to us all. I grieve his loss.
