David "Dagwood" Weasenforth, 72, of Burlington, WV, gained his wings and passed from this world on Thursday, February 27, 2025 with his loving family by his side while under the care of hospice.
Born on September 1, 1952 in Scherr, WV, he was a son of the late Walter R. and Ethel (Winters) Weasenforth. He also was preceded in death by five sisters, four brothers, and a granddaughter.
Dave drove trucks most of his life and when he retired, he enjoyed his family and working in his shop.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth A. "Liz" (Simmons) Weasenforth; three children, David Weasenforth and wife Mary of Gilmore, MD, Amanda Blacka and special friend, Jerry Eakle, Sr. of Burlington and Kimberley Weasenforth and her soul mate, Scott of Fort Ashby, WV; nine grandchildren, six step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Annabell "Jane" Aronhalt and husband Bill.
Dave donated his body to the WV Human Gift Registry. A memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 12-4 p,m, at the Burlington Volunteer Fire Hall. All friends and family members are invited to attend and share good memories and stories of Dave.
The Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
