David Lee Weigman, fondly known as "Papi" to his friends and "Pa" to his grandchildren, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 63, surrounded by his wife, along with his son, and daughter-in-law.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Weigman, son, Andy, daughter-in-law, Dedra, grandchildren, Theo, Rynn, sister, Diane (Andy), brother, Kevin (Molly), brother Mark (Carri), mother-in-law, Sallie, sister-in-law, Melinda (Sam), nieces, Sarah, Hannah, Stephanie (Brendan), Sarah (Mack), Chrissy, Hailey, nephews, Yusef (Carlyle), Jim, Adam, Travis, and Ben.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald, mother, Delores, father-in-law, Dale, grandfathers, Carl, Elinus, and grandmothers, Rose and Gertrude.
Family was the cornerstone of Dave's world. To him, there was no greater joy than sharing life's moments with those he cherished. Throughout their 37 years together, Dave and Lisa embarked on countless adventures and moved across the country, building meaningful and lasting relationships along the way.
His bond with his son Andy was unbreakable, and they shared the special connection of best friends. He was Andy's wingman on everything from a yearly ski to the UP of Michigan to manning the grill at his Packer parties. Whether it was these memorable adventures, daily phone conversations, morning text check-ins, or catching up on how the grandkids were doing, their relationship was one of warmth, laughter, and unwavering support.
As Grandpa "Pa," he was a devoted and loving presence in the lives of his grandchildren, Theo and Rynn. They were truly his world. Every Saturday morning, without fail, Pa would take Theo and Rynn out for donuts-a simple tradition that meant everything to them. Holidays, especially Christmas, were magical under Pa's touch, as he made sure every celebration was unforgettable and full of joy.
Pa's relationship with Theo was filled with adventures and life lessons. From attending Packers games with Andy to golfing, bike rides, and answering Theo's endless questions about the world, Pa cherished every moment, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Cooking was one of Dave's many love languages, and nothing brought him more happiness than seeing clean plates around the table. He was known for his hearty beef stew, rich chili, cheesy chicken casserole, and an assortment of grilled meats that always went over well with family and friends.
For those who knew Dave well, he was more than a family man; he was a pillar of strength, trust, and integrity. His passions extended beyond the love of his family-golf, travel, and cheering on his beloved Packers were some of his greatest joys.
Dave lived an extraordinary life, marked by love, laughter, and dedication. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed, but the legacy of his unwavering devotion and love will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know him.
