David was a salesman for many companies throughout his life. Two of his jobs which he was very proud of was a Steel Building company which two years in a row he was top sales man and he was awarded two trips, one to Spain and one to Hawaii. The other special job he had was working for the Freeman's from Stowe as their private chauffeur. Three special things in his life were of course his family as number one, another was he was a Collector of Vermont Books, which he read many of them from cover to cover. He was a licensed Auctioneer which he did part time. This included many charity auctions for organizations and individual families.
He and his wife owned and operated Hardwick Video for 11 years.
He was on many boards during his lifetime which included Select Board, Civil Defense Chairman, Grand Juror, LRSWMD Supervisor, School Moderator, Town Agent, Town Moderator, Local School board and LUHS/LNMUUSD School Board for nearly 40 years. Being born with health issues, it was always his goal on the School Board to have the kid's best interest at heart.
He was given the Bullard award one year at Eden town meeting and the 2010-2011 Eden Town Report was dedicated to him.
If you knew David, you knew he had very strong political views. He loved to debate and could agree to disagree. David had a great respect for the American flag and was very disappointed when they removed the Pledge of Allegiance from classrooms.
David was sometimes a very outspoken person, but if you got to know him you would see he was very knowledgeable about things and had a kind heart with everyone he met. He was an active member of the McDonald's coffee club.
