David White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cook-Richmond & Sons Funeral Home - Bogalusa on Feb. 23, 2026.
"The Saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the Kingdom Forever". Daniel 7:18

David Lavon White was born on November 13, 1962, in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Albert L. Lawson and Mary White. He peacefully passed away on February 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

David was born and raised in Bogalusa, Louisiana. He moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where he spent part of his life, before returning home to Bogalusa, where he lived out his final days surrounded by family and love.

David was a loving husband, devoted father, hardworking provider, caring brother, and faithful family man. He was known for his good spirit, kind heart, and deep love for his family. To know David was to know someone who valued togetherness, loyalty, and laughter, He carried himself with quiet strength and always showed up for the people he loved.

A die-hard New Orleans Saints fan, David's love for football was well known, and games days were filled with excitement, passion, and joy. David loved to dance, cheer for the Saints, and spread joy wherever he went; now he rests in the arms of the Lord, forever remembered."

More than anything, he cherished his family and took pride in being present in their lives.

Davis worked faithfully for The City of Bogalusa and Total Package Lawn Care, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and dedication.

He leaves to cherish his memory with his loving wife Wanda White; his children, David Berry, Carrie Berry, Kentrell Slocum, and La'Darrius Watson; and his Bonus Daughter Courtney Matthews. He also survived by his grandchildren, Shavontae Sims, Alfred Moses III, Al'Monte Moses, Aubrey Berry and Zayd Berry.

He also leaves behind his brothers, Alfred Lee(Jackson, Ms.), Albert White(New Orleans, LA), Samuel White(Pearl River, LA), Lamont Godbolt(Bogalusa, LA.) and Joseph White(Slidell, LA); and his sisters, Bertha Carter(Jackson, MS.), Sandra Morris(Slidell, LA), Bobbie Fontenot(Atlanta,GA), and Cheryl Mason(Austell,GA).

He is further survived by his aunt and uncle, Larry and Barbara Broadway(Jackson,MS);a special cousin, Stephanie Gooden; his childhood friends, Mitchell Jackson and James Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Mary White, and his father, Albert L. Lawson. Paternal grandparents Henry and Bertha Lawson, and maternal grandparents George and Gertrude Gooden.

David "Woochie" White will be remembered as a good man with a loving heart, a joyful spirit, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
