David Michael Willis, age 70, of Carthage entered into his heavenly home on Monday, August 4, 2025.

Dave was born on November 17, 1954 in Chicago, IL to the late union of William and Joan (Seypholt) Willis. He grew up in the Chicago, IL area until he was around 11 years when his parents relocated to the Carthage area. He was a 1973 graduate of Carthage High School. He worked for Granny Shaffer's, George's Restaurant, TJ Mott's and his favorite Stogey's Coney Island. He was a member of Forest Park Church and Bible Believers Baptist Church in Joplin. He was a firm believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and loved helping others. He enjoyed volunteering at church events, fellowshipping with friends and reading his bible. He loved getting to know others and made an extra effort to make sure everyone felt welcome wherever he was. Dave will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Willis-Martin; and brother, Mark Willis.

Dave is survived by his brother, Steven Willis and wife, Carol, of Carthage; two nieces, Adrian Martin-Butler and husband, Justin, and Melissa Martin-Wells and husband, Dave; two nephews, Rocky Willis and wife, Michelle, and Brad Willis and wife, Amanda; and a host of extended great-nieces and great-nephews.
