David Cutchin Wilson

David Cutchin Wilson passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, in Burgaw, NC. He was born on September 9, 1946, in Wilmington, NC and lived a fulfilling life of 78 years.
He graduated from New Hanover High School in 1964. Following his graduation, David proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1974, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of duty and honor. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a Diesel Mechanic, where his skill and dedication were highly regarded by colleagues and friends alike.
David was a member of the Cape Fear Optimist Club where he demonstrated his commitment to service and camaraderie.
David's interests extended beyond his professional life; he was an avid poker player, enjoying the strategy and fellowship the game offered. He also enjoyed watching football and Nascar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira Cutchin Wilson and Lola Brown Wilson, and his brother, Michael Allen Wilson. David leaves behind his surviving family: his son, William "Willie" Wilson of Wilmington; daughter Melissa "Missy" Wilson of Sunset Beach, Tammy Wilson of Wilmington, and Heather Wilson of Wilmington, and his brother William (Billy) Wilson of Wilmington. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jamie, Cameron, Timothy, Brittany, April, Brandon, Graysen, Justin, Amiyah, Makynna, and Ashley, and great-grandchildren, Zachary, Carl Jr., Carmella, Calique, Kyleigh, and Caleb.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a Visitation on February 25th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation Chapel, located at 1535 S. 41st Street Wilmington, NC 28403. A Funeral Service to honor David's life will be held on February 26th at 11:00am at the same location.
David Cutchin Wilson will be remembered by his warmth, kindness, and steadfast spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
