Chantilly, VA - David Wong, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at the age of 86, after a brief battle with cancer. He died surrounded by his loving family in Aldie, Virginia.
David was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane; his sons, Kevin (Hyojin Kim) and Gary (Cassie); his grandchildren, Eugene, Hailey, and Cameron; his sisters, Jean Soo Hoo, Rose Wong, and Donna Chow (Holly Onishi); his brothers, Edward (Katherine) and Stanley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
David served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army, as a combat engineer with the 7th Engineer Battalion at Ft Devens, Massachusetts. He demonstrated the same commitment to others that would characterize his life. David was a kind, compassionate, and selfless man. He was deeply dedicated to his family, always putting their needs above his own. His warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. David's presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and extended family brought comfort and joy, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
A celebration of David's life will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home in Fairfax, Virginia.
