David Thomas Woods, 71 of Albany, GA., died Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
David was born in Hawkinsville, GA., to the late George and Thrasha Woods. He graduated from Pulaski County High School in 1971. David went on to work for the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department. After he left there, he went to work for and retire from the Albany Police Department after twenty-four years of service.
After retirement David owned and operated The Lone Mower lawn service. He loved to work and deer hunt. David was a member of the Police Benevolent Association and First Baptist Church of Albany.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn Woods, his children, Danyel Scroggins (Heath) and Mandy Northcutt (Andre), his grandchildren, Zoey, Taelor, Wade and Harley Clack, his brother, Richard Woods (Becky) their children Bill Rolison (Sonny), Stetson Woods (Felicia), Rebecca Woods, his sister, Patty Barfield (James) their children Doug Barfield (Julia), Stella Wise (Jeff) and best Friends/Danyel's Real Daddy's -John Townsend (Karen).
He was preceded in death by Marion Walls (Tamara).
