David Worrell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haught Funeral Home on Mar. 30, 2026.
David Raymond Worrell, who was born on October 5, 1961, in Lakeland, Florida, and passed away on March 28, 2026, in Temple Terrace, Florida, was remembered by those who knew him as a quiet, steady, and deeply private man.
He was the son of Edwin and Mary Worrell, and he carried the values of his family with him throughout his life. He was a graduate of Plant City High School, where he completed his education before beginning the next chapter of his life and work. Those who knew David understood that he preferred a simple and reserved way of living, and he was known for being very private and reclusive. Even so, the people closest to him recognized the sincerity of his character and the quiet strength that defined him.
David spent many years working at the Plant City Water Treatment Facility, where he was known for his dependable presence and his long-term commitment to the work he did. His years of service reflected the kind of person he was, one who valued consistency, responsibility, and doing his part without seeking attention or recognition. He approached his work with seriousness and care, and his contributions were appreciated by those who worked alongside him.
Family remained an important part of David's life. He is survived by his parents, Edwin and Mary Worrell, his sister, Judy Shepherd and her husband Tim, his brother, Wayne Worrell, his nephew, Chris Shepherd and his wife Julee, and his two great-nephews, Caden and James Shepherd. His family will remember him with love and respect, and they will hold close the memories of his life, his presence, and the quiet ways in which he remained connected to them.
Although David was a private man, his life was meaningful in the ways that matter most. He lived with a sense of independence and dignity, and he left behind the memory of a man who was true to himself. His life was not one lived in the spotlight, but it was a life that reflected perseverance, humility, and devotion to the routines and responsibilities that shaped his days.
Those who knew David will remember his reserved nature, his long years of work, and the family ties that remained with him throughout his life. His passing leaves a quiet space in the lives of those who loved him, and his memory will continue to be cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services will be held privately by the family.
