David Calvin Young was born August 24,1960 to the late Charles James
Thomas and Ruth Eleanor Young. David attended Dorchester High School
in Boston Massachusetts through 11th grade and then extended his
education and training in the U.S. Department of Labor Job Corps to
completion.
David was a guy who enjoyed being a son, brother, father,
uncle, husband, grandfather, and friend. His infectious smile and bass
in his voice could often be seen and heard from a mile away. David had
a sense of humor and loved to crack jokes to make you smile. He was a
pet lover and always had a dog "man's best friend" as he would say!
Although David began to struggle with his health overtime, he never
let that stop him or hold him down! David had a "heart of gold" and
always enjoyed being there for his family and friends. He often spoke
about his love for his wife Angie, son Anthony, his daughter
Alexandria, stepdaughters Tia, Dee, Sha and grandchildren.
David's faith and love for God was his strength, in which he received Jesus
Christ as his Lord and Savior! David was a member of Appointed City
Church where his nephew Pastor David serves, he loved to watch him
preach faithfully every Sunday. He often had endless conversations
with his sister Pastor Carolyn expressing, "Sis you know I have faith
in God no matter what" Countless times he recited Psalm 23 during his
struggle with his health, because his faith always superseded his fear
of death. David's passion and favorite time of the year was football
season. He was excited when preseason started because he looked
forward to spending hours on the phone with his sister Cookie and her
husband Kevin debating about football. David, a true Bostonian and
Patriot fan, rooted for the Patriots with a sure bet to win! The Trio
of brothers David, Micheal, & Colt worked together as a team for 1810
Realty to prepare and turnover Section 8 apartments. David enjoyed
spending time with his family whether for work, play or fellowship.
In 2016 David and Angie relocated to Millsboro, Delaware from Boston,
MA to unite with their family. They later purchased a home and settled
in Blades, Delaware. On July 29, 2025, in the good fight of faith David departed this life to take his rest.
David was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny B. Young Jr. and sister,
Gwendolyn D. Young.
