Davis Gregory Kessler passed away on July 26, 2023, in Charlotte, NC, at the age of 29. He was born on January 21, 1994, in Elgin, IL to Martha (Davis) and Gregory Kessler.
Growing up in St. Charles, IL, Davis graduated high school from Marmion Academy in Batavia IL and relocated with his family to Denver, CO, where he received a bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Denver. It was in Denver where Davis met the love of his life, Jensen Bliesmer. They were married in June 2020 in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and moved to Charlotte, NC to start their life together.
Davis began his career as a software developer at Ahold Delhaize in Charlotte. A lover of math and games at an early age, he saw coding as a puzzle to create solutions for complex issues that were difficult to solve.
Davis had a huge heart and kept the Prayer of St. Francis (the Prayer of Peace) pegged to the white board in his office where he was reminded daily of how to live his life;
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
Davis is best summed up (he'd love the math pun) by one of his best friends who reflected upon hearing of his passing "Davis was a kind soul".
Davis is survived by his beloved wife, Jensen (Bliesmer) Kessler, his parents, his twin brother McCarthy, and his grandfather Kenneth. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Davis was preceded in death by his grandparents Genevieve and Carl Davis, grandmother Martha L. Kessler and his uncle Michael Davis.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 24, 2023 at the Hulwick Events Center in Fife Lake, MI. For those who wish to make a contribution in his memory, donations can be made to Dysphonia International, an organization that supports individuals with voice disorders.

I didn't know Davis personally, but I saw this announcement through work at Ahold Delhaize. I'm so terribly sorry to hear this and pray God's comfort for you all.
