Dawn Elizabeth (Foust) Auell, 86, of Conneaut Lake passed away peacefully with her daughter and beloved Dog, Sassy by her side, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community in Conneautville.
Born July 17, 1939, in Meadville, she was the daughter of Donald and Mabel (Orr) Foust.
Dawn attended Conneaut Lake High School. She held various bookkeeping jobs and her most memorable was working for her brother at Viking Tool & Gauge in Conneaut Lake.
She was a member of the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church. Dawn grew up in the Conneaut Lake area and always called that home. She loved doing oil painting. She enjoyed boating on the lake and fishing with her husband or brother. Dawn was known to her grandchildren as Grandma Goat.
Survivors include her daughter, Julie (Glenn) Wheeler; two grandchildren, Jaime (John) Shelatz and Tyler (Chelsea) Wheeler; four great-grandchildren, Brody, Jase, Gavin and Cade. Nieces, Faith Smith and Ava (Frank) Barba and families. Her Stepchildren, Bill Auell, Kathy Walker, Michael Auell, David Auell and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William J. Auell; great-granddaughter, Myla Elizabeth Shelatz; and brother, William C. Foust.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Crawford County Drug and Alcohol Commission, 920 Water St., Suite 12, Meadville, Pa 16335.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
