Dawn Pittman Gamble passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at the age of 80 at her home in Greenville, Mississippi. There will be a visitation with the family at Boone Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m., with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenville Cemetery.
Dawn was born in Mount Olive, Mississippi, in 1945 and moved with her family to Panama City, Florida, when she was a teenager. She graduated from Bay High School in 1963. She attended Millsaps College, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and graduated in 1967 with a degree in Elementary Education. After college, she taught 3rd and 5th grades at Pearl Elementary in Pearl, Mississippi. She moved to Greenville, Mississippi, with her family in 1980. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed immensely.
Dawn is preceded in death by her parents Hubert Lee Pittman and Lucille Pittman Mayfield along with her older brother Hubert Lee Pittman, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Hugh Gamble II; daughter, Katherine Gamble Boozer (Corey); son Hugh Gamble III (Meredith) and three grandchildren, Leanna Boozer, Lauren Boozer, and Hugh Gamble, IV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dawn's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

graduated with Dawn from Bay County High School in 1963, Panama City, Fla.
