Dawn McCoy

Dawn McCoy, 52, of Delbarton, WV, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born on October 29, 1973, in Williamson, WV, to the late Rev. Homer Mayhew and Rita Kay Adkins Mayhew.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Mayhew.

Dawn was a proud graduate of Burch High School. She continued her education at Southern WV Community College, where she earned her RN degree. With dedication and compassion, she went on to own and operate her own business, McCoy RN. Dawn was also a devoted member of the Hode Church of God.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kenneth McCoy; her daughter, Kendra McCoy; brothers Daniel (Abby) Mayhew. Mother, Rita Kay Adkins Mayhew. Brother-in-law Steven (Michelle) McCoy; mother-in-law Emma McCoy; nieces Elaina Grace Mayhew and MaKayla Sullivan; and nephew Mason McCoy.

Visitation will be held at Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton, WV on March 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Michael Alley and Rev. Daniel Mayhew officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Maher, WV. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to Chafin Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
