Our beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend Dawn Michelle was born to Robert Eldridge Plotner and Wanda Louise Plotner on September 11, 1973 and departed this Earth on February 9, 2025.
She was a 2010 graduate of Shorter University and was a manager for Norfolk Southern Railroad, where she worked for 25 years. Michelle lived a life of service and compassion and found healing in helping anyone in need, the overlooked, and the hurting. She brought food to the unhoused, volunteered at an orphanage and with Must Ministries, helped young couples down on their luck, and brought Christmas gifts to a cashier in need that she had just met. She went on missions trips and sponsored a needy child overseas. She donated her time and talents to face-painting and crafts with children in the community. She taught youth Sunday school.
Michelle loved to explore her artistic side. She painted, created pottery, made beautiful crafts and floral arrangements that she bestowed upon family and friends. She even laid her own tile and wood flooring and crafted wooden wall murals. We will always remember her love of stylish clothing whether it included sky high heels, cowboy boots, platinum shoes, or leather jackets with lots of rhinestones.
She will be missed for her quirky sense of humor, her adventurous spirit, and her laughter. She will be missed for her caring nature and the interest she took in her loved ones.
Above all she found Jesus to be her Lord and Savior and wanted everyone to know it. She wanted everyone to know they were loved by Him and by her no matter who they were. She knew well that He took ashes and made beauty from them. Her life left a big hole in this world...one that she would want to be filled to overflowing with Christ's love through us.
Dawn Michelle was preceded in death by her much-loved father, Robert Eldridge (Bob) Plotner. She is survived by her son Brandon Allen Plotner, mother Wanda Louise Plotner, brothers Robert Glenn Plotner and Timothy Allen (Marjorie) Plotner, sister Kimberly Lynne (Mark) Wendland, nephews Joshua Robert (Anna) Plotner, Jonathan David (Hannah) Plotner, and nephews Luke Quenten Wendland and Levi Eldridge Wendland, and her fiancé Bruce Mattox.
The family will be receiving guests from 10:00 to 11:30am on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Trinity Fellowship in Marietta, GA (www.tfmarietta.org), with the funeral service immediately following, in the sanctuary. Interment will be held at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery after the service. Everyone is welcome.
