Dansville Dawn Marie Scott age 50, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2024, while on a vacation trip in Jekyll Island, Georgia.
She was born in Dansville on October 24, 1973, a daughter of David and Marlene Sullivan Werth. She was predeceased by her stepfather Richard Creason. On December 19, 2020, she was married to Zachary Scott who survives.
Dawn was a blessing to everybody who had the opportunity to get to know her.
Dawn was a person whose heart was deeply committed to serving others. Dawn's greatest joy came from her children. They were her biggest passion, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her love and devotion to her family was evident in everything she did.
Outside of her family, her journey in working in special education was a testament to her unwavering dedication and compassion. Dawn worked with the L.I.V.E.S. Program through the Arc Glow, where she selflessly served individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her work was not just a career but a calling, as she devoted her life to improving the well-being of those she served.
Dawn's faith and relationship with God grew immensely following her kidney transplant in 2021. She saw this experience as a testament to God's grace and mercy, and it deepened her spiritual commitment. Her renewed faith became a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength, hope, and a profound sense of purpose. She often shared her journey and faith with others, inspiring many to never give up and to always see the beauty in the trials.
Dawn's legacy of service, compassion, and love will continuously inspire all who knew her. She will forever be with us in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to comfort and guide each of us.
Surviving in addition to her husband Zach are her children Bailey Race of Tennessee, Skyler (Ryan) Damboise, Dylan (Kayla) Race, Brady Race, and her adored grandson Hudson Damboise, all of Dansville; her mother Marlene Werth, father Dave (Kate) Werth of Dansville, brother Dave (Desiree) Werth of SC, niece and nephew Ashleigh and Jeffrey Werth father and mother in law Norm (Martha Yanda) Scott also of Dansville.
