Dawn Michelle Ward, age 53, passed away on December 25, 2025. She was born on November 20, 1972, in Galveston, Texas.
Dawn was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She was married to her loving husband, Billy Ward, for 17 years, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and shared memories.
Dawn also shared a special and deeply loving bond with her beloved dog, Jasper, who was her constant companion, and her precious cat, Winston, who brought her comfort, joy, and unconditional love. Their bond was truly special, and her fur babies meant the world to her.
Dawn’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved Christmas. She would have her trees arrive months before December each year and they were stunning. There was not a room in her home that was not filled with Santas, Christmas trees, and holiday décor. She was the best gift giver, and everyone received more gifts from her than they ever deserved.
Dawn treasured time spent with her husband, children, family and friends and enjoyed trips to the casino, where she loved the excitement, laughter, and making memories with those she cared about. She also loved long weekends at Crystal Beach, Texas. Dawn and Billy enjoyed traveling whether for leisure, or softball weekends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Hannah Noble and her fiancé, Ashton Dougay of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Aubrie Ward of Groves, Texas. Dawn was a proud “softball mom” and cherished spending countless weekends cheering Aubrie and her teammates on at tournaments, moments that brought her immense happiness and pride.
She is survived by her sisters, Renee Hester and her husband Wesley of Batson; Konnie Pinson and her husband James of Groves; and Kristie Romero and her husband Eddie of Groves. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, Tim Ward of Bridge City, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Kris Felps; her grandmother, Juanita Felps; her mother-in-law, Cathy Ward; and her aunts and uncles, Kyle Felps, Kelly Felps, and Vickie Felps.
There will be a visitation at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas, on January 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location at 12:00 PM.
Dawn will be remembered for her deep love for her husband and children, her devotion to family, her kind heart, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on through her husband, daughters, family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. #TeamDawn
