Dawnetta A. Park, 75, of Hutchinson, died February 21, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born June 8, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Donald and Eveyln (Schaffer) Wells.

After graduating in 1968 from Trinity High School Dawnetta stepped into the most important role of her life as a mother. While Dawnetta worked in Dental Insurance as a job, her true career and calling was as a wife, mother, and homemaker. More than anything Dawnetta's faith, family and her dog Zoey was what she loved most.

In 1995, Dawnetta married Jerry Park in Wichita. They shared 20 years of marriage before his death on March 5, 2015.

Dawnetta is survived by her: sons, Mike (Jenny) Mitchell of Wichita and Shawn Mitchell of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Taylor, Haylee, and Brooke Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Avery, Lucy, and Greyson; brothers, Alan (Kathy) Wells of Hutchinson and John (Kate) Wells of Parrish, FL; and beloved canine companion, Zoey.

She was preceded in death by: parents, beloved husband, Jerry Park, and brother, Ron Wells.

Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ryan Raigoza officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24, 2026, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary until service time.

Memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St. Hutchinson, KS.
