Dawsey Hood Obituary
Dawsey James "Jimmy" Hood, 81, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Pacolet, South Carolina on October 22, 1943, a son of the late Dorothy "Dot" (Gault) Hood and Alfred Hood and was the husband of the late Diane Lynn Hood having celebrated 47 years of marriage.
He worked many years as a Spartanburg City Police Officer and Fireman along with the Spartanburg County Sheriffs Office and retired from RR Donnelley.
He is survived by three sons, Aaron Hood, James Todd Hood and Paul Stewart DeWitt Hood and his wife Bonnie Wheeler Hood along with five grandchildren, Noah Lewis, Aiden Hood, Isaiah Lewis, Caden Hood and Julia Hood.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also predeceased by his daughter, Ashley Hood.
Visitation will be held at Seawright Funeral Home from 2:00-3:30 PM on Friday, October 17, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ASPCA PO Box 96929 Washington, DC 20090-6929.
