Allen Zander Morris was born June 10, 1941, in Stokes County, NC to the late Mr. Lee and Mrs. Margaret Gibson Morris. A native of Walnut Cove, NC, he received his elementary and secondary education there and attended Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston Salem, NC.

On June 5, 1961, in Stokes County, NC he married the love of his life and best friend, Alma D. Frazier. To this union four children were born.

After 38 years of service, he retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company where he was a mechanic and truck driver. He loved playing and watching baseball. He played baseball for the Baileytown Giants in Walnut Cove, NC.

He was a member of Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Deacon Board, Men's Chorus, Alpha Gospel Choir, and a Sunday School Teacher.

Deacon Morris died peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024, at his home in Winston-Salem, NC after short period of illness. He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who devoted his life to the well-being of his family.

In addition to his parents, Deacon Morris was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Lee Morris, Jr., Doris M. Shouse, James Howard Morris, Carlos C. Morris, and Walter E. Morris.

Deacon Morris is survived by his wife of 62-years, Alma F. Morris; one son, Purvis A. Morris of Winston-Salem, NC; three daughters, Marion K. Lovelace of Kernersville, NC, Sophia A. Morris and Andrea M. Morris of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Zander M. Morris of Atlanta, GA, Sidney X. Rucker of Dallas, TX and Ashlee R. Morris of Kernersville, NC; a devoted niece, Carla Morris Scott (Derek) of Winston-Salem, NC; his grandchildren in-love, Addison, Ethan and Evan Truzy; brother-in-law, Harold N. Frazier of Kernersville, NC; sisters-in-law, Doris Taylor, Brenda (Marolyn) Campbell, and Dorothy (Clyde) Dalton all of Stokesdale, NC, and Dorothy Sides of Winston-Salem, NC; and dear friends, Pastor Johnnie and Yolanda Taylor.

Now Lee and Margaret are with all their children in heaven, Lee Jr., Doris, Howard, Carlos, Allen and Walter.

Public viewing will be from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 9070 US HWY 158, Stokesdale, North Carolina. The family will greet friends thirty-minutes prior to service. Interment in Oak Springs Church Cemetery.
