Blandelia Hiwathia Peebles Bush McMoore

Beloved family matriarch, Ms. Blandelia Hiwathia Peebles Bush-McMoore, passed away peacefully at Novant Health Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina on March 8, 2024 at the age of 89.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering dedication to her family. Born on June 18, 1934 in Davie County, NC, she was the eldest of seven children, one of which died at a very early age born to James Elmer, Sr. and Janet Ellis Peebles.

Blandelia was educated in the public schools of Davie County and graduated in 1954 from Davie County Training School (now Davie County High School).
For many years Blandelia worked for Hanes Hosiery in Winston-Salem, NC, also at various pre-kindergarten schools in the city; and the Winston-Salem Chronicle Newspaper.

At an early age Blandelia joined Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Zion Church in Advance, NC. She was a former member of the Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Zion Church Senior Choir, the Sunday Church School, and the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, SQ Bush, Sr.; son, Bernard McMoore; daughters, Pamela B. Banks and Melissa Ann McMoore; granddaughter, Tashia Woods; brothers, Larry F. Peebles and James E. Peebles, Jr.; sister, Joanne P. Clark; daughter in-law, Joanne Bush; sisters-in-law, Cora P. Peebles and Wanda L. Peebles; brothers-in-law, W. Henry Clark, Charles Key and Willie C. Allen, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons: SQ Bush, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC and William Albert McMoore, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Linda B. (William "Chuck") McCorkle of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Mozel P. Key of Mocksville, NC and Mable P. Allen of Winston-Salem, NC; sister-in-law, Prophetess, Arlene C. Peebles of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren: SQ Bush, III, SQ Bush, IV, Erik Bush, Tory Conred, Christopher McMoore, Corrie McMoore, Kim McCorkle and Jessica Leigh Penn; great-grandchildren, Lillia Bush, Joanne Bush, Alana Conred, Cymphonique McMoore, Lazariah McMoore, and Zion McMoore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons. Family visitation thirty-minutes prior to service. Interment in Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, 482 Peoples Creek Road, Advance, North Carolina.
