Dean Alexander Balbag, son of Jose Balbag and Juliana Vellalos Balbag, was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 11, 1965, and passed away on February 12, 2022, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He married Christine Stark Thomason, on April 15, 2002 and they had one son (Zeke) together.
Dean was larger than life and a force to be reckoned with. He was the life of any party and always ready with a joke or two. If he was in the room, everyone knew it. He also had the ability to find the good in any situation and never let anything keep him down for long. He had a huge heart and was always the first to offer help to someone in need. He will leave a huge hole in the hearts of all who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; his children, Brandon Balbag, Alexis Mathews, Jared Balbag, Zeke Stark; stepchildren, Amanda Thomason and Edric Thomason; brothers, Derek Balbag, Douglas Balbag, and Ryan Balbag; sister, Dayna Breault; 4 grandchildren; and 3 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Juliana Balbag; and brothers, Jeff Balbag and Jonathan Balbag.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the University of Utah Hospital for the extraordinary care they took of Dean while he was in their care.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Syracuse Mortuary, 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse, Utah. Friends may visit the family Sunday, from 6 to 8 pm, and Monday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Clinton City Cemetery, 813 North 750 West, Clinton, Utah.
