Dean Hagemann, 60, of Byron IL passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2024 from a sudden medical condition.
As per Dean’s wishes, no formal services or visitation will be held. He will be interred in a private family service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon IL. A fellowship celebrating Dean’s life will be held on Saturday March 9 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the PrairieView Golf Course Pavilion in Byron, IL.
He graduated from Byron High School and Motorcycle Mechanics Institute of Daytona FL. He was a career motorcycle technician employed by several regional Harley Davison and Independent dealerships. Dean also was sole proprietor of MotoDeano Service Center in Byron IL. `
Dean was a friend and companion to a multitude of people. Dean was a proficient, life-long participant in various types of motorcycle racing. Dean was a National AMA/CCS and Daytona class Champion in 1999. He held several regional road racing titles. Dean also enjoyed motorcycle Ice racing and participating in Off Road dirt bike events. He was a Life Member of the American Motorcycle Association. Following his fathers precedence, Dean was an officer, multi-decade member and event organizer of Forest City Rider Motorcycle Club of Rockford IL. Dean was a true friend of all racers and was quick to offer help, support and always advice.
Dean Hagemann was born October 2, 1963 in Oregon IL to Jimmy and Phyllis (Carr) Hagemann. Dean is survived by siblings Janet (Marc) Burwell of Boulder City NV, Gary (Valerie) Hagemann of Rockford, IL, Douglas (Terry) Hagemann of Harriman TN, Kayla Cunningham of Byron IL., nieces and nephews; Garon Burwell, Alyssa Burwell Lasoff, Danielle (Sean) Lynch, Ariel (Lyle) Pratt, Justin (Tina) Hagemann, Jason (Mckenzy) Crabtree, and Kysa (David) Boll and great nieces and nephews, Wesley, Vivian, Johanna, Annabelle, Gideon, and Tamzyn.
Dean was predeceased by his mother Phyllis, father Jimmy, and brother-in-law Jeff Cunningham.
The family requests no flowers, but rather donations in Dean’s memory to the Red Flag Fund. This is an organization that Dean promoted and supported that helps injured motorcycle racers with funding and financial support.
