Dean Jeffs, 75, passed away July 7, 2024. Visitation will be Saturday, July 13, from 11am-12pm at Longview Funeral Home, followed by services at 12pm and burial at Longview Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Fellowship of John at Foxwood Springs, Raymore, MO.
Dean was born on July 14, 1948, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Harry Frederick and Marianna (Barger) Jeffs. He grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he played ice hockey with a traveling league when he was young. He was a lifelong University of Michigan sports fan. Dean also enjoyed fishing and had been active in many golf and bowling leagues through the years. He was employed as a security guard for the City of Kansas City Water Department. Dean and his wife, Kathryn, have been residents of Foxwood Springs for the past two years.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Doug, Dale, and Duane Jeffs; and two granddaughters, Kenley and Kherington Ruhl. He greatly missed his beloved dog, Carson, who also went before him.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; brother, Dave Jeffs; children, Shaun Jeffs and Angela Owens; stepchildren, Karrie Ruhl and Kyle Daugherty; grandchildren: Elijah, Mykayla, Bailey, Axtin, Jesse, Paisley, Edward, and Bradley.
