Dean Knuppel Obituary

Dean passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Wisner Care Center.
Derald Dean Knuppel was born June 7, 1936 to August and Margaret (Reimers) Knuppel on a farm south of West Point, NE. Dean was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in West Point. He attended St. Paul Lutheran School in West Point. Dean worked at the Council Oak Store in West Point.
On July 29, 1956, he was united in marriage to Arla Mae Repschlaeger at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, NE. He worked on the Bill Hensel farm prior to serving in the military. He served in the United States Army, stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC from 1959 until he was honorably discharged in 1961.
They returned to West Point, where Dean worked at Stigge Machine and at Vince Adams Appliance Store, eventually moving to the farm north of West Point. He was very proud of the home he built in the mid 1990's. He also worked for the West Point Alfalfa Mill.
Dean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, singing in the choir, and serving with Arla Mae as the church sponsors for the Walther League at St. Paul's School in West Point. He also had served on the AMPI Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the feedlot, playing cards, spending time with his family, and loved animals, especially his dogs.

Son-Jeff and Regan Knuppel of Bancroft, NE and family-Morgan, McKenzie, Houston (Derek) Logan, and Bo
Daughter-Paula and Marlen Eve of Gettysburg, PA and family-Hannah, Emily, Sam and his fiancée Haley
Son-Jerry and Sarah Knuppel of Fremont, NE and family-Jenna and Lauren
5 Great Grandchildren
Sisters-Marilyn Hesse of Dallas, TX
Neva Pflueger of Norfolk, NE
Several nieces and nephews also survive Dean.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents-August and Margaret Knuppel, son-Scott, and his brother-Leland Knuppel.
