Dean Broadbent Lewis

Dean Broadbent Lewis, age 69 passed away peacefully in his sleep in his home in Waynesville, Missouri on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
Dean was born in Kanab, Utah on September 13, 1953 to Wester and Verla Lewis. Dean enjoyed the small-town life and always considered Kanab his home. He married Sue Shiver in 1973 and they had 4 children together. They later divorced. He met Tami, his soul mate, and they married September 26, 1998.
In his younger years, he worked for Kane County as a firefighter for a short time until he got on as a mechanic for the Navajo Generating Station in Page. He worked there for about 20 years. He also worked side by side with his dad and Laurie for many years doing tile work and cabinetry. After retirement, he spent many days working in the pro shop at the golf course in Mt. Carmel. Dean has had a deep love for golf his entire life. It wouldn't be unusual to see him spending his days at the course. He always called it home church and said that's where he felt closest to God.
In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and hiking. The narrows in Zion were always a special place for him. He enjoyed fishing and spending that time with his family.
Dean is survived by his wife: Tamara Lewis of the home; seven children: Angie Burrows (Brandon) of St. George, UT and Kristy Reck (Jason) of Orderville, UT, Lindy Hale of Adena, MT, Samuel Lewis of Orderville, UT, Josh Coya (Lindsey) of Southern California, Blake Green (Marissa) of Republic, MO and Bri-Anne Coya, of St James, MO; 23 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; three siblings: Layle Johnson (Wallie) of the state of Utah, Terry Lewis of the state of Texas, and Laurie Franklin of the state of Utah; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wester and Verla; sister, Danell; brother-in-law, Buck, and his nephew, Tim.
Celebration of Life services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in Utah at the Thunderbird Golf Course in Mt. Carmell Junction. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert.
