Arnold, NE – Dean Lewis age 98 of Arnold, NE passed away September 2, 2025, at the Callaway District Hospital in Callaway, NE.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Arnold Baptist Church in Arnold, NE. Burial will follow in the Arnold Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to the Family. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 8th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, with family greeting from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home in Arnold. Arnold Funeral Home/Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Online words of remembrance or condolences may be left at www.govierbrothers.com
He was born on December 12, 1926, in North Platte, NE, to Oliver and Freda Lewis. Dean was one of five children, with three brothers and one sister. He lived a long and full life, marked most by his love for family.
Dean joined the Army and then later transferred into the Air Force where he continued his service. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked for the railroad in North Platte. He also enjoyed working on the farm and caring for the many horses he and his family owned.
On May 13, 2013, Dean married the love of his life, Shirley. Shortly after, they moved to their forever home in Arnold. Where they found the loving church and community that they were looking for.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and their dog, Tempi; his sister, Karen; his children, Tim, Tom, Deana, Kathy, and Anne; his granddaughters, KaySee, Laura, and Brittany; his grandsons, Levi and Roger; and his great-grandchildren, Brantley, Jack, Eli, Layla, Giuliani, and Zayn, as well as numerous other great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Freda; his brothers, Bobbie, Wayne, and Lynn; his sons, Roger, Bobbie, and Steve; and his daughter, Connie.
Dean will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of farming and animals, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
