  Dean Peterson, former Logan resident, after having lived a wonderful life went to be
with his Father in Heaven and family members who preceded him in death.
  Dean was born in Logan on April 17, 1932 to Ephram and Emma Chatterton Peterson.
  Dean met Betty Lou Rock while home on leave from the Army in 1952. They were
married a year later in Salinas, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the
Ogden Temple.
  Dean graduated from Logan High School where he was an outstanding athletic in
basketball, football, and track. He was selected to the All State Basketball team his
senior year. He retired from HAFB after 30 years of service which included 25 years as
the non-commissioned officers club Manager. During his time as manager, he was
selected as the Club Manager of the Year in the entire Air Force as well as many other
outstanding performance awards. He credits his success to his wonderful supportive wife
and the many outstanding dedicated employees who worked under his direction. He
developed many life-time friendships from this experience.
  Dean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has
served in various callings.
  He has a great relationship with his two children, Don and Cheryl and their spouses.
  During his younger years, he enjoyed fishing hunting with his son, his brothers Ray and
Chase and his father-in-law, Lee Rock.
  He played golf his entire life and actually shot 42 at age 90. He truly enjoyed his family
and friends through this activity. He also enjoyed attending his high school, reunions
where he could renew friendships from the good old days.
  His most recent enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and great-
grandchildren attending their dance recitals, and athletic activities. He loved them very
much and they returned that love to him.
  Having been born the youngest out a family of ten children, he had the blessing to have
outlived them all.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Peterson, their two children Don                                                                                                        (Doris) Peterson, Cheryl (Randy) Hansen, seven grandchildren and 22 great-
grandchildren who all loved him and will miss him immensely.
  Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11 am at Aaron’s
Mortuary, 496 24th Street, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30
am prior to the service at the same location.
  Interment in the Bear River Cemetery, 4600 West 5600 North, Bear River City, Utah
84301.
